Happy National Margarita Day

Today, February 22nd is National Margarita Day, a silly, made up holiday that is celebrated every year and enjoyed by many!  Here's a recipe to make the perfect pitcher of margaritas for those who wish to have some fun.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups tequila
  • 1 cup triple sec
  • 3/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 3/4 cup sweetened lime juice
  • 3 cups ice
  • kosher salt
  • 8 lime wedges

Directions:

  1. Combine the tequila, triple sec, fresh lime juice, sweetened lime juice, and ice in a large pitcher; stir.
  2. Pour the kosher salt onto a plate. Rub the rim of a glass with a lime wedge. Dip the rim of the glass into the salt; fill glass with margarita mixture; repeat for each serving.

Today is NATIONAL TEQUILA DAY

In celebration of National Tequila Day here is a recipe for one of my favorite cocktails from "back in the day" and my trips to Acapulco, the Tequila Sunrise!  Wow, brings back memories.

TEQUILA SUNRISE

11/2 oz Tequila
Orange juice
Grenadine
Fill a highball glass with ice. Add tequila and then fill with fresh orange juice. Top off with a splash of grenadine.
