Watching the Red Carpet arrivals was more fun for me than the actual Academy Awards show. I had several favorites, but my ultimate choice is Mila Kunis wearing Elie Saab Couture. Who was your favorite?

TOM FORD Fashion Quote

PAUL McCARTNEY Salutes GEORGE HARRISON
One of the best moments I've experienced live was when Paul McCartney saluted his friend and fellow bandmate George Harrison at the Citi Field Concert. Happy Birthday George.

Today would have been George Harrison's 68th birthday -- gone too soon. He was an incredible talent whose music will live on forever. George will never be forgotten.

TEACHERS
A teacher affects eternity:
he can never tell where his influence stops.
he can never tell where his influence stops.
Henry Adams
Yesterday, after a set of several odd circumstances, I had the wonderful opportunity of reconnecting with my favorite teacher. He is someone who not only had an impact on me as a fabulous teacher but also as a friend, someone who cared. I won't give time frame or name, but want to pay tribute to a wonderful teacher and person and thank him for taking the time to talk to me and remember me all these years later. I want to thank him for the influence he had on my life.
Thank a teacher today!
JUSTIN BIEBER Haircut
So, the earth shattering news this morning is all about Justin Bieber's new look! I guess I can understand this as I grew up in the age of The Beatles and every new look they took on made headlines. But, their headlines were in the teeny bopper magazines, not on the TV News channels. So, my question is, if you're a fan, do you really care? Would love to hear!

The '70's ARE BACK
Pick up any fashion magazine, tune into any fashion report and you will see that the fashions of the '70's are back. Some of the biggest comebacks are wide leg jeans and trousers. They are higher waisted and tend to elongate the leg -- what more could a woman want?

Caramia's Collection Salutes Cara Mia
The story of my eBay store name began with this song. It is as special to me today as it was when I first heard it in the early '60's. The song was and still is performed to perfection by Jay Black formerly of Jay and the Americans. Jay Black's voice at 72 is as powerful today as it was when he first recorded this song -- no one can sing Cara Mia the way Jay Black does!

Watching AMERICAN IDOL Missing SIMON COWELL
I'm still on the fence about whether American Idol is worth watching these days. So, with one eye on the TV and the other on YouTube, I found this great video of Simon insulting Ryan Seacrest. I have to say, I miss the original three judges and really miss Simon Cowell.

TIE DYE IN AGAIN
In just about every fashion report I've listened to or watched lately, attention has been brought to the appearance of TIE DYE on the runways again. What we loved in the '70's is back in more mellow form but is here again for sure. Tie dye can be considered wearable art -- how many of us made our own back in the day?!!

GRAMMY AWARDS
In the early '70's I was lucky enough to attend the Grammy Awards held at New York's Felt Forum. It was a small venue that seemed huge at the time. Here's a sampling of what I saw, so different from the Grammys now.
PARENTING
I came across this and thought it was worth passing on -- hope you do do..........
There comes a point in life when "fun" no longer means bar hopping or drinking and staying out all night. It means board games, trips to the park, and bedtime stories. Sleeping in means maybe 8 am. Becoming a parent doesn't change you, it's realizing that the little people you made DESERVE the BEST of your time! If you are PROUD to be a "boring" responsible parent, please pass this on.

My Tribute To BUDDY
A family I am very close with had to say good-bye to their beloved dog Buddy yesterday. Buddy was my friend too. He welcomed me into his home like I was a member of the family and always brought a huge smile to my face. As someone who has also had to say good-bye to pets in my life I understand the loss. Though he wasn't my dog, I grieve with them but smile at all the wonderful memories I have of Buddy. I am so happy to have shared a part of Buddy's life as he was so special.

The LITTLE BLACK DRESS
According to WIKIPEDIA:
The "little black dress" aka "LBD" is considered essential to a complete wardrobe by many women and fashion observers, who believe it a "rule of fashion" that every woman should own a simple, elegant black dress that can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion: for example, worn with a jacket and pumps for daytime business wear or with more ornate jewelry and accessories for evening. Because it is meant to be a staple of the wardrobe for a number of years, the style of the little black dress ideally should be as simple as possible: a short black dress that is too clearly part of a trend would not qualify because it would soon appear dated.

SAY THANK YOU!
In the world we live in, sometimes we tend to forget to do the simple things, like say "thank you". People do things for others every day and it takes nothing just to be kind and say those two simple words. I know that sometimes in my business and personal life I do things above and beyond and quite honestly, a thank you once in a while would mean the world to me to hear. What are your thoughts, please share......
