Thankful for Cara Mia

Every now and then I like to share the inspiration for my eBay store's name Caramia's Collection.  Here is Jay Black singing my favorite song, Cara Mia.

I've told the story before but for those who don't know, my eBay store is named Caramia's Collection after one of my favorite "oldies" songs sung by Jay Black.  Today is his birthday and here is a classic clip of him performing "Cara Mia".  Happy Birthday Jay!

My American Idol................

Watching the American Idol finale with one eye and checking YouTube with the other for my "American Idol" a singer whose career I've followed since I was a young girl -- Jay Black of Jay and the Americans.  At 72, he is still a crowd pleaser!  Here he sings the classic "A Certain Smile", enjoy!

If I had never heard Jay Black's "Cara Mia", I don't know what I would have named my eBay store Caramia's Collection.  In tribute to Jay Black and his extraordinary voice, here is another one of his hits "Come A Little Bit Closer".

Cara Mia Revisited

To any of my new followers, I'd like to introduce you to the story of my eBay store's name Caramia's Collection.  My store was named after my all time favorite "oldies" song by the One & Only Jay Black formerly of Jay & The Americans.  In a time when everything was rock and roll (which I also loved and love), Cara Mia warmed my heart -- it was so unique in its era and Jay's voice is incomparable to this day!  At 72 years old Jay still performs as Jay Black and his voice and talent is a strong today as in the '60's.  Treat yourself to a ticket when he comes to your town, you won't be disappointed!

Since you my blog friends probably know that I am a huge fan of Jay Black and his former group The Americans, I love sharing his music.  This is a fabulous song made even more special by Jay's powerful vocals.  I hope you enjoy it, it always makes me smile.
