Caramia's Collection WEDNESDAY TREASURE...........

Baby Boomers unite in crafting!!!  Caramia's Collection has come across a few sets of new, ready to make gravel art kits -- just waiting for your individual artistic touch!!  Gravel Art was very big in the '60's and I've talked about it before in my blog -- it is one of my favorite memories of "those" days.  If you look close, you can catch a piece or two on the sets of Mad Men.

These kits are currently available in my eBay store and I hope to be listing more along with already finished pieces ready to be hung in your mod home!

These vintage shoes are so fabulous and for sale in my eBay store, Caramia's Collection.  They look like they were borrowed from the costume department of Mad Men.

Caramia's Collection THURSDAY TREASURE...........

What a great find, right out of Mad Men,  a vintage Ruth Saltz handbag!  Which character do you think would wear this?  Metallics are always a classic and here is a really special bag that can easily be dressed up or down.

Caramia's Collection SUNDAY TREASURE...........

As a baby boomer, I have a certain fondness for music and items that bring back memories of growing up in the mid century.  As an avid fan of Mad Man, out of the corner of my eye one night, I caught a set decoration that reminded me of a craft that was so big in the '60's called Gravel Art.  Gravel Art was part of my life -- my mother loved doing it.  I have a collection that I am parting with slowly hoping the pieces find new homes where they will be loved.  Here's a great set of Calypso music performers I currently have at auction in my eBay store.

LET'S LOCK THE DOOR by Jay and the Americans

The '60's and '70's are having a comeback in fashion and home decor .  Here's a classic '60's hit from Jay and the Americans featuring Jay Black, "Let's Lock The Door".  Not only is the song fun, check out the guys' clothing!  Skinny leg pants and stripes -- right in fashion now and so Mad Men!

SELLING On EBAY

I started selling on eBay years ago and ultimately opened my eBay store Caramia's Collection.  One of the fun parts I find in selling is when a buyer contacts me after a purchase to tell me how happy they are with their new treasure.

Here's a recent email I received from a buyer and a photo of the item she purchased, a vintage table lighter ala Mad Men:

"Got the piece today. It is FAB! Bigger than I expected, lovlier than I had hoped. Setting it on my antique smoking table with the tobacco box. "

'60's Mad Men Art on EBay

I have become mesmerized by the art hanging in the homes and office sets of the AMC series Mad Men.  I am a huge fan of anything '60's and recently rediscovered my own childhood while browsing '60's era art on eBay.  I came across a piece I just had to have as an identical piece hung in my home as a child!  I did an eBay "buy it now" and my childhood is being revisited in my home now.  The art I have rediscovered is called Gravel Art.  These were kits in the '60's that people bought, similar to paint by number.  They were artsy, do-it-yourself projects.  I remember my mother doing one just like the piece I recently found on eBay.  The photo on the top is the original piece hanging in my Brooklyn, NY home.  The photo on the bottom is the piece I bought on eBay.  Enjoy!!
